Competent safety partner
Pilz is one of just a few companies on the market that's now authorised to CE mark its own products that fall under the scope of Annex IV of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The prerequisite is a comprehensive quality management system, which has been certificed by a notified body in accordance with Annex X of the Machinery Directive. Not only does this incorporate manufacture, final inspection and testing but also product design and development, so it goes well beyond the usual requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001.
TÜV Süd tested the Pilz quality management system, including all development and production processes, and certified it in April 2010. Once again this underlines Pilz's competence as a leading safety technology company.
The certificate covers the following Pilz product groups in particular:
- Protective devices designed to detect the presence of persons
- Power-operated interlocking movable guards designed to be used as safeguards in machinery and
- Logic units to ensure safety functions
